Everest Tengboche trek is an absolute gem. Whether you’re short of time, or have already trekked in another area and would like to also experience the Everest region without committing to another long trek, then the Everest Tengbouche trek experience is the one for you.
Starting with the short but famous flight to Lukla, fly over the trails which would normally take 7-10 days to walk, and arrive right in the heart of the mountains. An experience in itself!
Taking the main route towards Everest base camp, you will be following in the footsteps of many famous mountaineers to arrive at the regions’ main town of Namche Bazaar. A day’s acclimatisation is essential here. Perched on the hillside in the shape of a horseshoe, Namche Bazaar is a delight to explore whilst adjusting to the elevation.
From Namche Bazaar it is a beautiful trek to the world famous monastery of Tengbouche. Originally built in 1923, it was destroyed by an earthquake in 1934, rebuilt, only to be destroyed again by fire in 1989. Subsequently rebuilt is now home to around 60 monks, with beautiful architecture and intricate paintings. If that isn’t enough, from Tengbouche you can also enjoy outstanding views of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Thamserku and the distinctive Ama Dablam.
Enjoy a leisurely return trek to Lukla and finish with the stunning flight back to the hustle and bustle of vibrant Kathmandu.
