From Namche Bazaar it is a beautiful trek to the world famous monastery of Tengbouche. Originally built in 1923, it was destroyed by an earthquake in 1934, rebuilt, only to be destroyed again by fire in 1989. Subsequently rebuilt is now home to around 60 monks, with beautiful architecture and intricate paintings. If that isn’t enough, from Tengbouche you can also enjoy outstanding views of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Thamserku and the distinctive Ama Dablam.

Everest Tengboche Trek, the awe-inspiring journey with the Mountain Ram Adventures is beginning and we, the trekkers, will be arriving in Kathmandu to participate in the journey. The representatives assigned to us will meet us at the airport and assist us with our bags and transfer us to our accommodation in the Thamel area. We will have free time after our check in and we can explore the local market and purchase any gears which we require for our Himalayan adventure. During the evening time we will be heading to the head office of the team for a briefing session and meeting up with our team members( Guides and Porters).
We will be heading to TIA for our flight to Lukla which will be around 30 minutes. The flight is filled with stunning views of the Himalayan Peaks including some of the most mesmerizing peaks like, Gaurishankar Himal, Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, Cho Oyu, Makalu, Lhotse and Everest itself. The flight is thrilling on its own as the plane is skillfully maneuvered by the pilot landing in the Tenzing-Hillary Airport, regarded by many as the most dangerous airport in the world, infamous for its short runway constructed on a cliff face. We will reach Lukla pumped after the adrenaline filled plane ride from where we will begin our trek as we head towards Phakding where we will be spending our first night in the Himalayas. The hike from Lukla to Phakding will take us just around 4 hours as we pass through the abundant forest and well maintained trail leading us all the way through to Phakding.
Note: The flights from Kathmandu to Lukla are scheduled to Ramechhap to Lukla during the peak season to maintain the air traffic of the capital. During these cases the team will be arranging for the bus ticket of the trekkers to Ramechaap from Kathmandu. The trekkers can also request the team to arrange a private vehicle for the journey to Ramechhap which will incur in additional charges paid by the trekker at the end of the trek. The journey is around 4 hours and the trekkers need to head towards Ramechhap early in the morning around 2-3 AM to catch their flight to Lukla from Ramechhap.
Today, we begin our day with a healthy breakfast enjoying the greenery surrounding us and birds chirping. We march on to our destination, Namche Bazaar after having our breakfast and packing up our essentials. The trail is filled with captivating views of the lush forest and the soothing sound of the Dudh Koshi River. The trail is flat and comfortable leading us all the way to Monjo Village at an elevation of 2835 M, the entry point of the Sagarmatha National Park where we will be required to show our permits to the authorities to trek further. After registering our permits we will be heading to Namche following the trail in front of us. The trail is mostly flat till we reach Hillary Suspension Bridge from where the trail is steep leading us all the way to Namche Bazaar. The ascend from the Suspension bridge will be the hardest stretch in our trek and we will trek slowly, resetting when required. The trek will take us around 3 hours after which we will reach Namche Bazaar, the destination for our night. The village is in an arc shape and rests beside a mountain cliff and is one of the biggest settlements of the Sherpa community in the region. We will greeted with the splendid views of the Himalayan views including Mount Everest (8848 M) alongside Lhotse(8516 M), Nuptse(7861 M), Ama Dablam(6812 M), Kusum Khangru(6367 M), Kongde Ri(6187 M).
We wake up early on the 4th day of our trip and head towards the Everest View hotel to catch a glimpse of the Khumbu Peaks during dawn, at which the mountains can be seen a bright shade of gold and orange. We head back to our hotel and have our breakfast and explore the village and mingle with the locals and trekkers. There are many cafes, restaurants and pubs in the Everest Region where we can relax. We can also head for acclimatization hikes near the Namche Bazaar area and return back to the village for the night. We will be spending our night in Namche Bazaar and rest well for our long journey to Tengboche the next day.
We will march on towards Tengboche on our 5th day shortly after having our breakfast. The journey to Tengboche is a mesmerizing one filled with the spectacular views of Mount Ama Dablam, Lhotse and Everest, if the weather conditions are favorable. We will be passing through small Sherpa Settlements including Sansa, Lawi Schyasa and Pungi Thenga, where we will be crossing the Dudh Koshi River via a small suspension bridge eventually leading us to Tengboche. The trails of the Everest region are well maintained and today, the trail is splendid and comfortable to trek on. We will be staying in Tengboche and after we check-in to our accommodation for the night we can head out to explore the Monastery and village.
We will be exploring the village of Tengboche for a bit during the morning time and have our breakfast. We will be visiting the Tengboche Monastery, which is the biggest monastery of Nepal after which we will be heading back towards Namche Bazaar, passing through the same trail which we trekked the previous day. The trek will take us around 6 hours during which we will be looking back to enjoy the views of the Himalayas and resting when necessary. There will be no hurry to trek so, we will be trekking according to our own pace. We will make a stop at Namche Bazaar to have our lunch and rest for a while. We will then head towards Monjo passing through the steep descent leading us towards Hilary Suspension Bridge, after which the trail becomes quite flat leading all the way to Monjo where we will be staying for the night.
The Day 7 of our trek will be our final day of the trek, which will be a short and comfortable one. We will be heading from Monjo to Phakding where we will be having our lunch and resting for a bit. We will be enjoying the views of the lush green valleys and forest leading us all the way to Lukla. We will be checking in to our rooms after which we will have free time to explore the village and celebrate our completion of the trek. We will have dinner at our hotel and rest for the night as we have an early flight back to Kathmandu/ Ramechaap from Lukla.
We will be heading back to Kathmandu/ Ramechaap from Lukla while enjoying the scenic views of the High Himalayas. The majestic Himalayan flight is the perfect way to mark the end of the trek. After landing in Kathmandu we will be transferred to our accommodation in the Thamel area and we will have free time to explore the historic city of Kathmandu. The trekkers will be requested by the team members to provide their honest feedback of their trek and team members, at the same time we will provide you a trekking certificate too.
Note: If the flights are scheduled to Ramechaap then the bus ticket for the trekkers will be arranged by the company and if the trekkers want to head back to Kathmandu in a comfortable private vehicle then they can inform the team members about it and the team will arrange the vehicle for them. The charge for the private vehicle will be paid by the trekkers after their arrival in Kathmandu.
The Everest Tengboche Trek is completed and we will be dropped off at the Departure Terminal of the TIA in a comfortable private vehicle accompanied by the representatives of the Mountain Ram Adventures. The representatives will be arriving in the hotel around 3 hours before the flight and assist us with our bags and check out. The representatives will be returning back after dropping us at the airport and bidding us farewell. The team will be eagerly waiting for a call back from the trekkers for their next journey to the Himalayas.

To participate in the Everest Tengboche Trek the trekkers will need to obtain the Sagarmatha National Park Permit and the Pasang Lhamu Municipality Permit which can be obtained from the department of Immigration located in Kathmandu and can be applied by the trekkers through their official website.
The total cost of the permit for the Everest Tengboche Trek is around 6000 NPR per trekker which can be easily obtained by the trekkers by visiting the Department of Immigration in Kalikasthan, Kathmandu. The permits of the trekkers participating in the Everest Tengboche Trek with the Mountain Ram Adventures will be applied for and collected by the representatives on behalf of the trekkers and the cost of their permits are also included in the package.
Yes, the trekkers are recommended to carry additional money for their journey as the trekkers are liable to cover their personal expenses as mentioned in the costing section of the trek. The trekkers personal expenses including bar bill, laundry, snacks and others are not included in the package. During any emergency situation the trip can also be extended during which the trekkers will need to cover for their own expenses additional days in the Himalayas.
There are ATMs in the trail of the Everest Tengboche Trek, however, the trekkers are recommended to withdraw the required funds for their journey whilst in Kathmandu. The trekkers will need to pay additional charges ranging from 3 to 9% per transaction depending upon the bank. The threat of Avalanches and Landslides is quite low in the trail of the Everest Tengboche Trek so, the trekkers need not to worry much about it.
