Gosainkunda Pass trek is a beautiful and relatively short trek in the remote and intensely breathtaking region of Langtang National Park. Trekkers will delight in the remoteness of this region in comparison to some of the other, more populous routes - such as the Annapurnas or Everest regions, making it a must-do for those who want to get away from it all and experience the beauty of Nepal Himalayas without distraction. This trek is truly enchanting and begins just a short day's journey from Kathmandu.
The Gosainkunda Pass trek encompasses the beautiful lakes of the Gosiankund, which are considered holy by both Hindus and Buddhists alike. Many Hindus make the annual pilgrimage to bathe in the lakes during the August full moon festival of Janai Purnima and this is an excellent time for trekkers to experience Nepalese culture and partake in local festivities should they desire.
Heading over the Laurebinayak Pass, trekkers will head down through the steeped terraced countryside to the Shivapuri National Park, just north of Kathmandu. This area is home to Tamang, Newari and Chhetri people and is a wonderful taste of Nepal's harmonious, ethnically diverse peoples.
The Gosainkunda Pass trek is a hidden gem - combining peaceful trails, majestic Himalayan scenery, a high pass, as well as breathtakingly beautiful and pristine sacred lakes, combined with a warm welcome from the famously hospitable local population. The Gosainkunda Pass trek allows you, the lucky trekker, to immerse yourself in beautifully remote trekking in a peaceful environment with unsurpassesd views of Langtang, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu and even the Annapurna Himalayan ranges.
