Detail About Langtang Full Circuit Trek

Langtang Full Circuit trek has just about everything Nepal has to offer the lucky trekker! This combined trek (Combination of Tamang Heritage Langtang Gosainkund Helambu) will allow you to totally immerse yourself in this much under rated trekking area and fully explore the exceptional beauty it has to offer.

The Tamang Heritage trek is one of the newest in Nepal and was only opened to trekkers in 2002. It was created with the local villagers to improve trails and showcase the local Tamang people, a people renowned for their hospitality and a culture rich with many local festivals. It is a wonderful start to explore this region on relatively easy going trails through pristine mountain scenery.

Cross over into the Langtang valley and trek through forests of pine, bamboo and rhododendron, keeping an eye open for rare wildlife such as the red panda and multiple species of colourful birds. After the vegetation gives way to alpine meadows, in the spring, you'll be treated to the best wildflower display Nepal has to offer and year round, to up close, breathtaking mountain views.

Onto the enchanting, sacred lakes of the Gosainkund, which are framed with a 150km panorama of Himalayan mountain peaks. The lakes are holy to both Hindus and Buddhists alike and many Hindus make the pilgrimage to bathe in the lakes during the August full moon festival of Janai Purnima

The trek then takes you onto the beautiful, calm valley of the Helambu. The terrain is classic Himalayan foothills. Despite its proximity to Kathmandu, the trails remain blissfully quiet as you wind your way through cultivated terraces, Sherpa villages and mountain viewpoints. A real taste of rural Nepal.

Langtang Full Circuit trek is sure to give every trekker experiences to treasure for a lifetime.

  9. Best Time to Trek in the Langtang Full Circuit Trek
The Langtang Full Circuit Trekking trail can be conquered by the trekkers during any season but the weather conditions and other factors do not stay constant. Trekkers can experience seasonal changes in the Langtang Region and depending on the month of their trek they will have a unique experience.

Langtang Full Circuit Trek During Spring Season: March to May is the season of Spring in the Himalayas and trekkers will have an excellent journey if they are planning to trek during the spring season. The wild flowers and rhododendron flowers bloom during this time which covers the lower and mid regions of the Langtang Valley and turning the trail into an vibrant and aromatic paradise. Trekkers will also be able to enjoy the beautiful views of the Himalayas and the lush valleys while experiencing pleasant weather conditions.

Langtang Full Circuit Trek During Autumn Season: September to November arguably is the best time to participate in the Langtang Full Circuit Trek. The weather conditions are favorable and trekkers will be able to trek in the region while enjoying the beautiful and uninterrupted views of the Himalayas and deep valleys. Trekkers trying to avoid huge trekking crowds can plan their trek during any other season as the Autumn season is considered to be Peak trekking season in Nepal, attracting thousands of trekkers to the popular trekking destinations. The independent trekkers participating should book the required facilities for their trek in advance if they want to get the best deal and travel without any stress as finding accommodations can be a hassle during Autumn season if not pre booked.

Langtang Full Circuit Trek During Winter Season: Trekkers participating in the trek during the Winter season will face hardship during the trek including extreme cold temperature and difficulty in navigating through the trail due to snow. Trekkers will need to be accompanied by a guide  for their journey due to unfavorable conditions for trekking and without the assistance of the guides the trekkers will have a difficult time in the Himalayas. Trekkers will be required to carry warm clothes for their journey as temperature from the elevation above 3500 M can reach below freezing easily. The trekkers who can tolerate the extreme conditions will have an amazing journey in the Langtang Region as they will get to experience the best of the Himalayas. The higher elevations are covered in snow and the views are simply unparalleled, turning the already beautiful trail into a winter paradise. The winter season covers the month from December to February in the Himalayas.

Langtang Full Circuit Trek During Summer Season:  The months from June to August are not an ideal time to trek in the Himalayas. The trekkers can expect constant rain during the season due to which the views of the Himalayas are obstructed by the rain clouds. Trekkers will not have a pleasant journey as the risk of landslide, GLOF, Flood, Avalanches is also at its peak during the Monsoon season as climates can spike without prior warnings. Trekkers are suggested to shift their plan to any other season as they won't be able to have pleasant experiences in the Himalayas. The trekkers participating in the Monsoon season will need to have a guide assigned to them for the journey and have waterproof gears for their trek as without them trekking in the season is not possible.
