Tharpu Chuli peak is also well known as Tent Peak and has been growing as one of the best non-technical climbing peak destination of the Annapurna Region providing stellar views of the high Himalayas including Annapurna 1(8091 M), Annapurna South(7219 M), Annapurna 3(7555 M), Hiunchuli(6441 M), Machhapuchhre(6993 M) Khangsar Kang (7485m) and Tarke Kang (7193m).
The trekking trail of the Tharpu Chuli Peak Climbing is mostly shared with the mainstream trekking route to the Annapurna Base Camp and is filled with the scattered settlements of the local ethnic communities including Gurung, Magar, Thakali and Tibetan tribes. As you arrive in Tribhuvan International Airport for the adventure-filled Tharpu Chuli peak climbing tour with the Mountain Ram Adventures team the representatives will be ready to welcome you to Kathmandu. The team will be accommodating the clients to ensure a comfortable transfer from the airport to their designated hotel in Thamel area. After checking in to their rooms the clients can rest or freshen up and explore the Thamel area which is regarded as the main tourist hub within Kathmandu providing the visitors to experience the authentic local and western amenities. The clients can also purchase their gears and essentials for the climbing in Kathmandu as good quality gears can be purchased at a very cheap rate.
We will be heading for a sightseeing tour of the four UNESCO World Heritage sites within Kathmandu valley after enjoying our breakfast at the hotel. We will be accompanied by a sightseeing cultural guide and will be traveling from destination to destination in a private vehicle. The guides will be communicating with us in English providing necessary information about the monuments and making it much more entertaining and enjoyable. After the completion of the sightseeing tour we will be dropped back to our hotel after which the clients can freshen up as they will be meeting with the team members of Mountain Ram Adventures to have a brief discussion about the trip. After the discussion the clients can return back to their hotel and rest for the night.

Swayambhunath Stupa
The Swayambhunath Stupa well known as the “Monkey Temple” amongst the tourists is one of the prime sites for the Hindu and Buddhist community serving as one of the important pilgrimage sites for more than 1600 years. The stupa is located at the top of the Gopuchha Hill on the western outskirts of Kathmandu and can be accessed only after climbing a flight of 365 stairs. The stupa is built in an Ashokan style dome shaped and is believed to be built over the eternal self existing flame and is surrounded by shrines and temples. Great views of the Kathmandu valley and the high Himlayas can be seen from Swayambhunath when the weather is clear.
Pashupatinath Temple
Pashupatinath Temple, considered to be the biggest and the most revered temple for the hindu community observes thousands of devotees visiting to obtain blessing from the lord of destruction, Lord Shiva. The temple is located at the bank of the holy Bagmati River which serves as one of the biggest open cremation sites of the Hindu community as it is strongly believed that devotees cremated there find their path to the next life easily. The main vicinity of the Pashupatinath temple can only be visited by the Hindu community where taking photos and videos is strictly prohibited. The travelers also usually visit the temple to see the Aarati Puja (Highest form of prayer) which is done everyday beginning at around 7 PM. (not included in the sightseeing tour)
Boudhanath Stupa
Boudhanath Stupa is the biggest stupa of Nepal located in the North-East part of Kathmandu around 6 KM from the center. The stupa stands at around 36 M tall and was built during the Licchavi dynasty of Nepal (450 CE-750 CE) and falls in the ancient route which connected the Kathmandu valley with Tibet prominently used for trading. The Stupa welcomes thousands of visitors of the Buddhist community every year traveling for religious purposes. The vicinity of the stupa provides a peaceful experience to the visitors even though located within one of the most hectic parts of the capital.
Patan Durbar Square
Patan Durbar Square is located at the center of the Lalitpur district which used to serve as the residence of the Royals of the Malla Dynasty who ruled from 1201 AD to 1779 AD. The Durbar Square complex is considered to be one the best architectural marvels within Nepal filled with intricately built Temples, Palace, Shrines, Hitis and Courtyards. The complex houses some of the iconic landmarks of the country including Krishna Temple built in Shikhar Style and Hare Shankar Temple built in Pagoda Style. There is also a museum within the palace holding some of the ancient statues, drawings, pictures and monuments carrying significant value. As of 2024 AD the monuments of the complex are being restored as most of the square was destroyed by the devastating earthquake of 2015 AD.
We will be heading towards Pokhara on our 3rd day of the trip which is around 210 KM away from the capital city, Kathmandu. We will be traveling via a comfortable tourist bus which will take us around 6-7 hours. The journey is a beautiful one as we will be traveling though windy and twisting roads constructed in the hills alongside the Trishuli and Marshyangdi River. We will be greeted by the glimpses of the snow capped peaks during the journey if the weather is clear. After an enjoyable journey we will reach Pokhara which is regarded as the tourism capital of Nepal. We will be dropped at our designated hotel in the Lakeside area after which we can enjoy our free time exploring the vibrant city.
After a goodnight rest we will be enjoying our breakfast while soaking in the majestic views of the High Himalayas of the Annapurna Himalayan Range. We will be packing our essentials for the trek and head towards Naya Pul which is around 2 hours drive from Pokhara. After reaching Naya Pul we will unload our gear and begin our trek towards Ghandruk marking the beginning of our adventure towards the summit of Tharpu Chuli. The trek to Ghandruk will take us around 4-5 hours covering a total of 8.6 KM. The journey will be through the off-road motorway. After reaching Ghandruk we will be checking into a cozy tea house operated by the hospital local of the Gurung community. The onlookers can enjoy the surreal views of Mount Hiunchuli, Annapurna, Gangapurna and Fishtail.
We will begin our chilly morning with the spectacular views of the Annapurna Himalayan Range in the golden hour while having a hearty breakfast after which we will begin our trek towards Chhomrong. The route to Chhomrong takes us along the offbeat trails along the Modi Khola and after trekking for a while we will begin our ascent through huge boulders. After a comfortable ascent we will be crossing the Kimrong River via a suspension bridge marking the beginning of our steep ascent towards Chhomrong. On our way to Chhomrong we will be passing through Jhinu Danda which is famous for its natural hot spring as trekkers participating in various adventures in the Annapurna region relax there by soaking away their pain in the natural hot spring. After covering a total distance of around 10 KM we will reach Chhomrong where we will be staying for the night.
On our 6th day of the trip we will be heading towards Dovan/Himalayan Hotel which will take us around 6-7 hours in total. We will begin our trek towards Himalayan Hotel with a steep descent filled with stone steps towards the Chhomrong Khola which we will be crossing via a suspension bridge. After crossing the suspension bridge we will begin our steep ascent towards Sinuwa and Khuldighar which leads us to bamboo after which the trail is stable and comfortable through the abundant bamboo forest leading us eventually to Himalayan Hotel where we will be spending our night resting after a challenging trek.
After a hearty breakfast we will be heading towards MBC which begins with a challenging incline through the abundant forest alongside the Modi Khola. We will be greeted with the majestic views of the High Himalayas which will lead us to Deurali where we will be resting for a bit and enjoying the views of the intimidating peaks of the Annapurna Himalayan Range. After resting for a bit in Deurali we will be challenged by the sudden steep inclines which we will navigate through finally reaching MBC. The trek from Himalayan Hotel to MBC (Machhapuchhre Base Camp) will take us around 4 hours while covering a total distance of around 7.3 KM. After an enjoyable trek we will be staying at a cozy tea house in MBC.
After soaking in the views of the High Himalayas while enjoying our breakfast we will be heading towards the Annapurna Base Camp. The trek will take us just around 3 hours covering a total distance of around 3 KM. As we gradually gain altitude via the challenging yet rewarding trail we will be greeted with the sight of unparalleled views of the High Annapurna Himalayas. After reaching Annapurna Base Camp which is at an elevation of 4130 M we will be greeted with the views of Hiunchuli, Annapurna South(7219 M), Annapurna 1(8091 M),Annapurna 3(7555 M) Machhapuchhre(6993 M) and Gangapurna(7455 M) in a panoramic setting. We will be enjoying our rest of the day at ABC soaking in the views, relaxing and preparing for our upcoming summit of the Tharpu Chuli Peak. We will be staying in a warm tea house at ABC.
On our 9th day of the trip we will be staying in ABC acclimatizing for the summit and just enjoying our day soaking in the majestic views. We will be exploring around ABC for a bit for acclimatization. During our spare day the climbing guides will be providing us with some technical maneuvering and climbing skills which will be crucial for summiting the Tharpu Chuli. After some basic training we will be resting, enjoying our leisure time and indulging with the locals.
We will begin our trek towards the Tharpu Chuli Base Camp which is at an elevation of 4450M after having our breakfast. The trek will take us North of the Annapurna Base Camp through the Glacier Moraine of the Annapurna Peaks. After an eventful and challenging trek through the harsh landforms we will reach a flat grassland where we will scout the best areas to set up our camp site. The weather conditions will be harsher in the Tharpu Chuli Base Camp so we need to be well geared up with warm clothes. We will be staying in the tents set up by the team after having a nutritious and filling meal prepared by the team members.
After a warm night's sleep we will be waking up and having our breakfast. After packing up our camp site. After packing up we will begin our trek with a steep ascent through the grassy off beat trail which will grow narrow and risky as we gain altitude. We will be greeted with the majestic views of the sight of the surrounding peaks. We will be gaining altitude gradually throughout the hike and as we will be trekking at an altitude of 5200 M we can feel lightheadedness and dizziness, in that case make sure to inform the team members who will ensure your safety and monitor our health. After a challenging hike we will reach the High Camp where we will be setting up our camp for the night. We can enjoy the scenic 360 degree views of the snow capped peaks of the Annapurna Himalayan Range.
As the day of the summit finally arrives we will be waking up before the sun rises and will have our breakfast and head for the summit of the Tharpu Chuli Peak. We will begin our ascent towards the summit after having our breakfast. We will begin the ascent early on using headlamps as usually after the sunrise the wind picks up pace making it much more challenging to summit. We will firstly ascend through the snow leading us towards the ridge which we will slowly navigate through. The climb will get much more challenging and difficult as we ascent due to the oxygen level and low pressure. After crossing the Icefall we will reach the base of the peak from where we will be ascending using harness and ropes as the trail to the summit is vertical and very strenuous. After the challenging climb we will finally reach the summit. After enjoying the 360 degree panoramic views of the himalayas we will be returning back to the high camp feeling a proud sense of conquering the Tharpu Peak. We will be staying in High camp for a well deserved rest.
The Tharpu Chuli Peak Climbing tour presented by the Mountain Ram Adventures team is designed with all the possibilities which can affect the adventurous summit of the peak so, one extra day has been added to the trip just in case any unforeseen events arise during the trip. We will be staying in High Camp at an elevation of 5200M where we will be staying in tents and having nutritious meals prepared by the representatives of the Mountain Ram Adventures. The trekkers need not to worry as the team will be well equipped with required meal preps and essentials for an extra day at High Camp.
As we have successfully summited the Tharpu Chuli we will be heading back towards Annapurna Base Camp via the Tharpu Chuli base camp. The trek to ABC will be mostly downhill as we will be descenting around 1000M. After trekking for 4-5 hours through the familiar route we will eventually reach the ABC where we will be celebrating the successful summit of the peak. We can enjoy the views of the Himalayas and the stars at night from the ABC which is just mesmerizing. We will be staying in ABC for the night in the cozy rooms of the tea house.
We will begin our descent towards Bamboo from ABC after soaking in the views of the Himalayas from the base camp one last time. We will be heading towards Bamboo passing through MBC, Dovan and Himalayan Hotel. If we are lucky then we will be able to encounter the elusive species of the Annapurna Region on our downhill hike to Bamboo. The trek to Bamboo will take us around 6 hours in total covering a total distance of around 17 KM. We can enjoy the views of the Annapurna South(7219 M), Annapurna 1(8091 M), Annapurna 2 (7937M), Tharpu Chuli (5695 M), Macchhapuchhre(6993 M). We will be staying in Bamboo for the night.
As our adventure is coming to an end we will be trekking back to Jhinu Danda from Bamboo which will take us around 6 hours in total covering around 13 KM. We will be passing through Kuldi Ghar and Sinuwa leading towards Chomrong from where after a comfortable downhill trek we will reach Jhinu Danda which is famous for its natural hot spring where the trekkers of the Annapurna region soak in to wash away all the pain and soreness in their body. After enjoying the Hot Spring we will be heading to our tea house where we will be staying for the night.
The journey to Nayapul from Jhinu Danda is the last stretch of our adventure-filled Tharpu Chuli Peak Climbing. We will be trekking through the off-road motor trail which will lead us to NayaPul taking us around 6 hours. After reaching Nayapul we will be heading to Pokhara which will take us around 2 hours. We will be dropped at our designated hotel in the Lakeside area. After checking in the Hotel we will have free time where we can explore the vibrant lakeside area where there are many cafes and restaurants beside the lake providing the visitors a tranquil experience.
We will be heading back towards Kathmandu on the 18th day of our trip via a comfortable tourist bus. We will be having an early breakfast at our hotel and checking out to catch our bus to Kathmandu. The journey will be around 6-7 hours where we will be passing through scenic landscapes. After a comfortable journey we will eventually reach Kathmandu after which you will be dropped at your designated Hotel in Thamel area. You can freshen up and explore for a bit as it is your last day of the trip. The Mountain Ram Adventures team will be hosting a celebratory dinner marking the successful summit of the Tharpu Chuli. The team will also be providing a certificate of recognition to the clients marking their adventure. After the dinner they can return back to their hotel and rest or explore the night life of Thamel.
As the Tharpu Chuli Peak climbing with the Mountain Ram Adventures team is finally completed the team members will be assisting you with the checkout formalities and with loading the suitcases into the vehicle. The team will be transferring the clients on a private vehicle to the international departure terminal of the TIA. The clients can provide the representatives with feedback about their journey during the airport transfer so that we can improve the service in the next adventure. The clients will be dropped at the International Departure Terminal of TIA marking the end of the challenging yet amazing journey to the summit of Tharpu Chuli. The team will be waiting for a call back from the clients to discuss our next adventure to the mesmerizing Himalayas.

The trekkers are however strongly suggested to listen to their body and walk according to their own pace and enjoy the true beauty of the Himalayas. The trekkers are strongly suggested to not overdo as it can lead to fatigue and tiredness which can cause problems while trekking and summiting.
Yes, During the Tharpu Chuli Peak Climbing tour there is the possibility of getting sick due to the altitude and if the clients face any discomfort due to the elevation the team will first of all regulate the situation by providing first aid treatment as the guides have received basic medical training. If the health of the clients further deteriorates the team representatives will be contacting the head office for emergency evacuation after which the clients will be transferred to the medical facility in Kathmandu via helicopter as the safety of the clients will always be the first priority of the team during the entirety of the trip.
The Tharpu Chuli Peak Climbing is one of the challenging non-technical peak climbs in the Himalayas yet can be conquered even by the first time trekkers/ climbers only if they are physically capable to endure the harsh conditions of the Himalayas and are accompanied by professional climbing guides for the tour. The guides will be accompanying the climbers throughout the journey making it a comfortable journey. The Mountain Ram Adventures Team offers experienced team members including climbing guides and porters for the entirety of the climbing tour.
The trekkers will be accompanied by skilled and experienced guides and porters for the Tharpu Chuli Peak Climbing tour. The Mountain Ram Adventure will assign one guide for three trekkers so that all the trekkers are catered fully . The team will also assign porters who will be responsible for the luggage of 2 trekkers each totalling to 20 KG (10KG per trekker).
If the clients request for female guides to accompany them for their journey then the team will try to meet the travel demand of the clients however, it cannot be guaranteed.
