The trek ascends the beautiful Budhi Gandaki Valley and every day sees a change of scenery and the higher you go the closer you get to the mighty Mt Manaslu. Most importantly, this trek offers you the unforgettable panoramic view of Manaslu Range along with the Ganesh Himal and the Tibetan border Himalayas too. Mt Manaslu starts to grab your attention with sneak previews on the way up the valley as soon you enter villages like Lihi or Lho. So you don't necessarily have to go to high altitudes to have your eyes dazzled with the mountain scenery.
The trekking proper begins at Soti Khola, a seven hour jeep ride or longer on a local bus. After 6 days of invigorating trekking passing through friendly villages like Jagat, Pilim, Lihi, Lho you reach the enticing village of Samagaun (3500m). This is in a majestic setting perched right under the mighty Mt Manaslu and the Manaslu Range. You can just about reach out and touch them. It is here a few days rest is taken before the return trek back down the valley to Soti Khola. While in Sama Gaun the fit and hardy can trek to Mt Manaslu Base Camp (4400m) which has outstanding high altitude mountain views.

The Manaslu Panorama Trek is underway and we will be arriving at the Tribhuvan International Airport to participate in the trek. The team representatives of the company will be waiting for our arrival at the airport and will be transferring us to our accommodations in a comfortable vehicle. The airport transfer is a complementary service provided by the team. After arriving at the Hotel we will be checking in to our room and freshening up. After freshening up we will have free time to explore the local market for the day. We can spend our time enjoying the amenities at various local restaurants, pubs, bars.
On the second day of the tour the team representatives will be applying for the permits on our behalf and will be collecting it. We will be roaming around the local market searching for the essential gears required for the trek. We will be provided with a packing list by the team, if requested and we can purchase required gears accordingly from the local vendors. After exploring the market we will be heading to the head office of the team to have a short discussion regarding the trek and will be meeting up with our guides and team members for the journey. After the briefing session we will be heading back to our room and pack our essentials for our trek and call it a night.
We will be heading towards Machha Khola at an elevation of 700 M to start our trek to the Manaslu region. The drive in total will take us around 8 hours during which we will be covering around 143 KM. The drive itself is beautiful as views of the Langtang, Mansalsu and Ganesh Himalayan Range are visible during the drive along with the lush valleys. We will be heading from the capital towards Bahuntar via the Prithivi Highway along the Trisuli river. After reaching Bahuntar we will make a sharp right turn and head towards Machha Khola via the off road constructed beside the Budhi Gandaki River. After a bumpy second half journey we will reach our destination for the night, Machha Khola where we will be spending our night.
The trek to Jagat from Machha Khola marks the beginning of our trek to the beautiful Manaslu Region. We will begin trekking shortly after we have our breakfast. The trek is comfortable through the well maintained narrow trail with simple ascents and descents. The trail takes us along the Budhi Gandaki River passing through the settlements of Tatopani, Dobhan, Yaruphant all the way to Jagar. The trail also passes through the beautiful forest filled with the rustling sound of the leaves making the journey even more captivating. After trekking around 22 KM, for 607 hours we will eventually reach Jagat where we will be spending our night in a cozy tea house operated by the local hospitable Gurung peoples.
The trek to Deng is simply mesmerizing and filled with scenic views of the Himalayas. We will begin our trek slowly through the gentle trail. We will be entering the restricted area on the 5th day of the tour during which we will have to show our permits to trek further up the trail. We will trek towards a suspension bridge over the Budhi Gandaki River and pass through the village of Philim along the way. We will be resting for a bit in Philm which is one of the bigger Gurung villages in the Manaslu region and houses beautiful Stupas, Monasteries and is covered in beautiful prayer flags. After resting for a bit we head forward passing through the lush forest till we reach Deng which in total will take us around 6 hours. We will be staying in a tea house for the night in Deg Village at an elevation of 1860 M .
The trek to Namrung Village at an elevation of 2630 M is beautiful as we begin our trek by passing through the farmlands and pasture land leading us to the Suspension bridge over the Budhi Gandaki River. The trail firstly leads towards Rana through a comfortable incline which leads us deep within the river valley all the way to Prok Village from where we will be greeted with the beautiful views of the Singri Himal. We will be resting for a bit in Prok Village and make our way forward towards the village of Namrung. The trail is comfortable until the final stretch which leads directly to the entrance of Namrung. We will be checking into our rooms in a tea house after completing the hike and resting for the night.
We will be trekking to Low Village from Namrung Village. The trek is a short one which will take us around 5 hours in general during which we will be gaining around 550 M in elevation and trekking around 11 KM in total. The trail to Low Village is filled with stunning views of the Himalchuli, Singri Himal, Ganesh Himal and other beautiful peaks. The trail begins with a gentle flat trail which turns into a narrow inclined trail as we move forward. We will be passing through Lho and Lihi along the way to Low village. As we start to ascend towards our destination we start to notice the abundant forest start to dwindle slowly clearing out vista for us to enjoy. The trek is filled with picturesque farmlands, pasture land and Chortens which are dedicated to deities of Buddhism. After a blissful trek we will reach Low village from where we will be able to enjoy the beautiful views of Mount Manaslu (8163 M).
The trek to Sama Gaun is a beautiful short hike of just 3 hours. We will begin our trek slowly after getting enough sleep and having our breakfast. The trekking trail is marked with various mani stone walls and chortens. As we make our way past the chortens, we will slowly begin to descend towards a river after which the trail continues towards Syala Gaun. The trail is filled with stunning views of the intimidating peaks including Manaslu, Nadi Chuli, HimalChuli and many more. The trail continues towards a suspension bridge over the Numla Khola after which the trail is mostly flat all the way to Sama Gaun. We will be staying in Sama Gaun for the night which used to be one of the biggest Tibet refugee camps in the Manaslu Region.
On the 9th day of the tour we will be heading for an excursion to the Pung Gyen Gompa at an elevation of 4030 M. The trail begins as we pass through the forest and ascend towards the Gompa, the forest starts to clear out, opening up for us to enjoy the beautiful Himalayan Vista. The trail becomes quite steep and challenging as we head forward. The Pung Gyen Monastery is located at the base of Mount Pungyen(Mount Manaslu). The Sama Gaun region is inhabited by the majority of the Numbri community who have a deep rooted connection with Buddhism. The Gompa is a sacred site of the Nubri Community and is constructed in a traditional Tibetan architectural style, surrounded with prayer flags and features a golden top. The Gompa is around 5 hours from Sama Gaun and around 770 M above from the village. We will be enjoying the beautiful views of the Himalayan Vista and returning back to Sama Gaun for the night.
On the 10th Day of the journey we will be heading towards the base camp of the world’s 8th Highest Peak, Mount Manaslu. The Hike begins as we make our way towards the Birendra Lake which is around 120 M above from Sama Gaun. Birendra Taal is one beautiful freshwater Glacier Lake from where we will be able to enjoy the majestic views of the Manaslu Himal. We will be ascending towards the basecamp which is at an elevation of 4400 M. After a steep ascent we will finally reach MBC from where we will be able to enjoy the surreal views of the gorgeous river valley with the turquoise Birendra Lake below us. The view of Mount Manaslu is as intimidating as it can get. We may be able to meet up with the climbers trying to scale the mighty Mountain while in the Base camp. After enjoying the views and clicking some pictures we will be returning back to the Sama Gaun via Birendra Taal at an elevation of 3691 M. After around 8 hours in total we will reach Sama Gaun where we will be spending our night.
We will be heading towards Namrung from Sama Gaun via Low Village. We will be passing through the familiar trail. The trek will mostly be downhill during which we will be dropping around 890 M in elevation. The trek will take us around 6 Hours in total during which we will be stopping in Low Village and having our lunch. The trail will be comfortable and we will be making sure to look back from time to time to enjoy the glimpses of the Himalayas and enjoy the beautiful trail of the Manaslu Panorama Trek. After trekking 28 KM we will reach Namrung village where we will be staying for the night.
On the 12th day of the Journey we will be heading towards Deng from Namrung which will take us around 5 hours in general. We will be covering around 21 KM while losing around 450 M in altitude. The trek to Deng will commence after we have our breakfast. The trail begins as we make our way through the dense Rhododendron Forest which leads us to Philim Village. We will most probably have our lunch after which we will make our way towards the suspension bridge over the Budhi Gandaki River. The trail after crossing the bridge is downhill and comfortable, ideal for trekking. We will eventually reach Deng after a comfortable journey where we will be checking in to the tea house and explore the village for a bit and relax.
The trek from Deng to Jagat will be comfortable as most of the trail is flat and downhill. During the 13th Day we will be dropping around 450 M in elevation. We will be trekking through the village of Yaruphant, Dobhan, Tatopani during which we will be able to hear the intimidating roar of the Budhi Gandaki River. The trek in total will take us just around 5 hours during which we will be covering around 22 KM during the day which will be the final stretch of the trek marking the end to the spectacular Manaslu Panorama Trek. We will be reaching Jagat during the afternoon time after which we will have enough time to explore the local area. As we will be heading back to the capital we will be spending our final day relaxing and enjoying the views of the river valleys and lush green hills.
Machhakhola to Kathmandu will be an eight hour journey which will begin shortly after we have our breakfast in the tea house. The journey will take us alongside the Budhi Gandaki River till Bahuntar after which we will be making a left turn and heading towards Kathmandu via the Prithivi Highway alongside the Trishuli River. After a scenic and comfortable drive we will reach Kathmandu, we will be dropped off at our accommodation in the Thame area. We will be bidding our farewell to our team members and providing them with generous tips for their assistance in the Himalayas. After checking in to the rooms we will freshen up and explore the market or rest for a bit and head for a farewell dinner organized by the Mountain Ram Adventures team. We will be provided with a certificate for completing the Manaslu Panorama Trek successfully and will be requested to provide our honest feedback of the trip to the team members ensuring we had a good journey. After dinner we will be heading back to our hotel and call it a night or make
The Manaslu Panorama Trek with the Mountain Ram Adventures is completed, so the team representatives will be arriving at our hotel for checkout around 3 hours before our flight back. We will be assisted with our luggages and we will be transferred to the Tribhuvan International Airport in a comfortable vehicle. The team representatives will be dropping us and bidding us farewell at the International Departure marking the end to the mesmerizing trek.

The trekkers participating in the Manaslu Panorama Trek will be trekking through the Heart of Manaslu Conservation Area renowned for housing some of the majestic beasts of the Himalayan Region. During the trek the trekkers, if lucky, will be able to spot these magnificent animals and birds as spotting them is quite rare however the probability is not zero. The trekkers can carry a set of binoculars with them for their journey as it can come in handy during the trek. The chances of encountering wildlife is quite high during the Spring season.
The best time to participate in the Manaslu Panorama Trek will be during the Spring Season which covers the month of March to May during which the conditions are perfect for trekking and the trekking crowd is considerably lower than of the Autumn Season. Trekking during the month of December in the Manaslu Panoramic Trek is also a good time to trek but the weather conditions can get extremely cold during the end of the month.
During the Manaslu Panoramic Trek trekkers will be trekking to a maximum elevation of 4400 M during the trek reaching Manaslu Base Camp. The trekkers will be able to adapt to the higher Himalayan elevation as the trekkers will be gaining no more than 500 M+ elevation in a single day. The trekkers will be able to adapt to the elevation comfortably and if they face any hardship along the way they will have their guide and team members to look out for them.
The Manaslu Panoramic Trek cannot be done solo as it is restricted by the concerned authority due to the increasing number of mortality in solo trekkers. The solo trekkers must be accompanied by a licensed guide for their journey. The Mountain Ram Adventures team will make sure to make the journey of the solo trekkers journeys as comfortable as possible by assigning a guide or Guide/porter for the journey. The solo trekkers can also join Fixed Departure groups during which they can meet fellow trekkers from all around the world.
The Guides assigned for the Manaslu Panorama Trek by the team will be able to communicate with the trekkers fluently in English. The porters assigned for the trek will be able to understand the clients but may not be able to fluently communicate in English with the trekkers. The Guides and porters assigned for the trek will be well experienced with the terrain and will assist the trekkers with any difficulties which can arise during the trek.
As per the policies and rules made by the concerned authorities, there are no age restrictions and limits. The trekkers will be able to trek in the trail freely however, the trekkers participating should be fit for the journey as it will be strenuous challenging the trekkers for the entirety of the journey.
If the trekkers will get injured or get ill due to the altitude or other factors then the team members will firstly monitor the health of the trekkers and try to stabilize the health of trekkers. If the team members fail to mitigate the problem then the trekkers will be transferred to a medical facility within Kathmandu Valley via a Helicopter service. The team members will be making sure the health of the trekkers does not further deteriorate and provide them with first aid treatment if required and medicines as the team members will be carrying a First Aid Kit with them.
During the Manaslu Panorama Trek the trekkers will be trekking around 148.6 KM in total, on an average of 13.5 KM per day. The trekkers will be trekking for around 5 hours each day on an average for a span of a total 11 trekking days.
There are no ATMs along the trail of the Manaslu Panorama Trek and trekkers participating are strongly suggested to carry the required funds for their journey whilst in Kathmandu. The trekkers can exchange their currency into NPR or can withdraw from the ATMs in Kathmandu.
Yes, extending the Manaslu Panorama Trek is possible and trekkers can further trek along to the Larke Pass, Tsum Valley or any other destination which they prefer. The trekkers will be able to participate in a city tour before/ after their trek. The participants are requested to inform the team representatives about this so that the team can make the necessary arrangement for the tour. The trip extension will cost extra which will depend on the destination of travel.
