There are two magnificent Durbar Squares, one in Kathmandu and one in Patan. There is a third one, located inside the Bhaktapur city, which is at once as nice as the other two but also the biggest of the three. Due to its size, it is popular enough to attract masses of tourists who have to travel 2 hours by public bus or rent a private car from Kathmandu. This Durbar Square, in difference from others, is home to many ordinary people who live, work and stay there throughout the day. Here is also where visitors can intermingle with locals, taste local food stuffs, and just enjoy all the historic monuments, passages and little shops and merchandizes presented.
